Welcome to Wyrmsblood. This is a blog detailing my homebrew Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting called Wyrmsblood, as well as session reports, Dungeon Master tools, and other miscellany.
I am a writer and filmmaker based on Portland, Oregon, where I was born and raised. I am a graduate of Columbia University, where I received an MFA in Film.
I started playing and DMing D&D back in 2016 with Fifth Edition. After several years, I realized that 5e didn’t fit the kind of gameplay I enjoyed, nor did it encourage the type of fantasy that I preferred. I became aware of the OSR (Old-School Renaissance) and never looked back. My current game of choice is OSE (Old-School Essentials), a restatement of the classic 1981 Basic/Expert edition of D&D, including some choice bits from their Advanced Fantasy supplements, which introduce content from 1st Edition AD&D to the Basic/Expert framework.
The Wyrmsblood setting is a long time coming. Pieces of it have existed for over twenty years. It originated in the daydreams of a boy with a wild imagination and too much time on his hands. The purpose of this blog is to share my setting and the games played within it. This is a game, after all, so let’s have fun.
